Reconhecido em círculos culinários de prestígio, a habilidade culinária de Rafael foi reconhecida no renomado Guia Michelin, garantindo-lhe um lugar na categoria Bib Gourmand France. Conquistou a vitória na competição Iron Chef Brasil e emergiu vitorioso no MasterChef Profissionais 2018.
Rafael estudou no Institute of Culinary Education em Nova York, aprimorou suas habilidades em nos renomados Mirazur na França e no Eleven Madison Park em Nova York, antes de atuar como chef executivo no Grand Coeur Paris.
